Item Terms & Conditions
The Greene School Chromebook Agreement: Students in grades 9-12 will be issued Chromebooks for use in school and at home. In order to be able to provide Chromebooks for all students and maintain this initiative for years to come, each student and/or parent is responsible to pay for the $50 Chromebook fee that is required for all students to pay for using a TGS designated Chromebook. The $50 fee also covers the first screen replacement if the student’s Chromebook LCD Screen has been cracked/damaged. After the device is repaired one-time, additional repair costs will be evaluated by The Greene School Administration and our IT technicians to evaluate whether they can be repaired or replaced. The Chromebooks are loaned to the students for educational purposes only for a four-year period or until they graduate or leave the school. Moreover, The Greene School’s administrative staff and faculty retain the right to collect and/or inspect Chrome books at any time, including via electronic remote access, and to alter, add or delete installed software or hardware. At the end of the student's time at The Greene School, the $200 payment will result in the Chromebook becoming property of the student, independent from The Greene School once they have graduated or transferred. The amount for purchase will be prorated based upon the number of years the student has spent at the school. In the event of a lost or stolen Chromebook, please notify school personnel immediately. Also, lost/damaged cords are not covered by insurance. If these items are lost/damaged, parents/students will be responsible for the cost to replace these items which is $15. If the Chromebook was replaced due to damages or the loss of the original Chromebook the student received, the fee for the original Chromebook must be paid in full and the policy is applied to the student's replacement Chromebook. If the student/ family does not complete the $200 payment prior to graduation or transferring from The Greene School, they have the option of paying the remaining balance or returning the Chromebook back to The Greene School. Spare Equipment and Lending If a student’s Chromebook is inoperable, the school has a limited number of spare devices for use while the student’s Chromebook is repaired or replaced. This agreement remains in effect for loaner computers, meaning the student/family are responsible for paying for any damages that occur to the loaner Chromebook while in the student’s possession. The student may not opt to keep an inoperable Chromebook to avoid doing class work due to loss or damage. Copyright and File Sharing Students are required to follow all copyright laws around all media including text, images, programs, music, and video. Downloading, sharing, and posting online illegally obtained media is prohibited.
