Soon we will begin learning to play the soprano recorder in music class. The program your child will learn is Recorder Karate! Every lesson of Recorder Karate meets the National Standards for music education. Your child will have the opportunity to earn different colored belts (just as in Karate) to hang from their recorder. Each level of belt represents a new song, with new musical skills, your child has mastered on their recorder. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn how to play a real quality woodwind instrument. We are asking that your child purchase a recorder for this purpose.
